Kenji Narukami (鳴神剣二 Narukami Kenji?) moved to Akebono and was mistaken for a demon upon arrival. After defending a dog in the street, he found himself confronting a Demon Beast, being chosen by the GekiRyuKen and becoming Ryukendo. Since then, he works at SHOT, saving the day more often than not. He is trained in the Narukami Ryuujinryu technique. By inserting the RyuKen Key into GekiRyuKen, Kenji can synchronize with GekiRyuKen to transform into Ryukendo. He has deep feelings for Rin and is very protective. When GekiRyuKen was stolen by a demon he saved it. GekiRyuKen's power was increased because of Kenji. GekiRyuken was transformed into God GekiRyuKen. By inserting God RyuKen Key into God GekiRyuKen, Kenji can synchronize with God GekiRyuKen to transform into God Ryukendo. As for the finale it would be Ultimate Ryukendo. Kenji is often simple-minded and happy-go-lucky, but has a fiery temper as well and a strong sense of justice. His fiery temper often puts him at odds with Rin, though they are really both fond of each other. Initially infatuated with Kaori, he develops feelings with Rin without him realizing it, as shown when he has a sudden outburst of anger and frustration that Rin is going out on a date with Hiroshi.

Character History[]

When Kenji moved to Akebono, he was mistaken for a demon upon arrival. After defending a dog in the street, he found himself confronting a Demon Beast, being chosen by GekiRyuKen to become Ryukendo. Since then, he works at SHOT, saving the day more often than not. He is trained in the Narukami Ryuujinryu technique.

He is engaged with Umi Saionji whose his fiancee who is very skilled with the way of the Narukami Ryuujinryu.

Ryukendo's dragon-based default form can be accessed by inserting the RyuKen key into GekiRyuKen. By inserting the Final Key into GekiRyuKen, Ryukendo can performing his finishing attack, Madan Slash.

  • Madan Knuckle: Ryukendo auxilary weapon. It's finishing attack is Knuckle Spark.
  • Madan Key Holder: Ryukendo arsenal which could store Ryukendo's Madan Keys.
  • Madan Dagger: Ryukendo secondary weapon. Allows Ryukendo to use Madan Spiral Chain to bind the enemy. It can also combine with Gekiryuken to form Twin Edge Gekiryuken, thus powering Ryukendo finishing attack into Super Madan Slash.

Juuoh

  • Brave Leon: Ryukendo personal Juuoh that took form of a Lion. It can turn into a three-wheeled motorcycle called Leon Trike. When riding Leon Trike, Ryukendo can perform his Trinity attack.

  • Knuckle Spark The weapon began to build up blue energy before shooting a powerful beam that vaporizes an entire group of enemies.
  • Madan Slash: In Final Break, the GekiRyuKen is covered in energy before doing an energy slash attack.
    • Trinity Madan Slash: Another Final Break, which involves a trinity attack from Ryukendo, the GekiRyuKen, and Brave Leon. Ryukendo charges forward riding Brave Leon in it's motorcycle form, the GekiRyuKen covered in energy before doing a final slash attack.
  • Super Madan Slash: In Final Crush, the Twin Edge Gekiryuken's blades are covered in energy before doing a double slash attack.

Fire Ryukendo is Ryukendo's fire-based powered-up form, activated by the Fire Key. In this form, Ryukendo can call for his personal JuuOh, Fire Kong, which can turn into cannons. Fire Ryukendo utilizes a variety of flame-based attacks. His finishing move is Burning Slash.

  • Blazing Slash: In Final Break, the GekiRyuKen is covered in flames before doing a flaming slash attack. Another variant of this attack is that the blade shoots out large flames to burn the opponent.
  • Super Blazing Slash: In Final Crush, Ryukendo blasted the opponent with Fire Kong in its cannon form, after that he charges forward with the Twin Edge GekiRyuKen doing a flaming thrust attack and a double slash attack.

Aqua Ryukendo is Ryukendo's water-based powered-up form, activated by the Aqua Key. Aqua Shark is Ryukendo's JuuOh in this form, which can turn into a hoverboard. In this form, Ryukendo has powers over water and ice. His finishing move is Freezing Slash .

  • Freezing Slash: In Final Break, the GekiRyuKen is covered in ice then slashes the opponent and engulfs them in ice completely before shattering to pieces. Another variant of this attack is where he shoots a beam of ice from the sword, freezing a large group of enemies.
  • Super Freezing Slash: In Final Crush, Ryukendo charges forward while riding Aqua Shark in its hoverboard mode. The GekiRyuKen is covered in ice, shooting an ice beam towards the opponent freezing them before slashing them to pieces.

When Kenji first used his Thunder Ryukendo form, he found himself unable to transform. Eventually though, he not only got the Thunder Key working, but also found his JuuOh, Thunder Eagle, which can turn into a set of wings for Ryukendo. Thunder Ryukendo's powers include lightning and electricity, and his finishing move is Lightning Thunder Slash.

Just like it's previous form, Burning Ryukendo utilizes a variety of flame-based attacks, albeit a lot stronger than before. His finishing move is Exploding Burning Slash.

His upgraded Juuoh, Lightning Eagle could still be used as wings, but now it can reach faraway places like outer space. His finishing move is Exploding Lightning Slash .



Ultimate Ryukendo

Ultimate Ryukendo is a gold and silver final power up that first made its appearance in episode 45. It was activated through the use of the Ultimate Key found in Rock Crimson's body. After gaining the Ultimate Keys from Lady Gold and Bloody Baron bodies, the three Ultimate keys united and grant Ultimate Ryukendo its full power. Ultimate Ryukendo is powered by the Ultimate Dragon, which attaches to God GekiRyuKen shield part. His suit is white-and-gold, with a gray visor and a blue crystal on his chest. Ultimate Ryukendo can combine his four Upgraded JuuOh to create the more powerful Raijin Dragon . Its finishing move is Ultimate Madan Slash.

In the final battle against Daimaou GrenGhost, Ulimate Ryukendo Juuoh can be combined with Ultimate Ryugunou and Ultimate Ryujinou Juuoh to form the completed Raijin Dragon, allowing the trio to use Nine as One attacks that ultimately vanquish GrenGhost for good.

Arsenal

  • Ultimate GekiRyuKen: Ultimate Ryukendo transformation device and personal weapon. The blade part is equipped with Ultimate Dragon tail part, while the shield part is equipped with the rest of the Ultimate Dragon body.
  • Ultimate Dragon: A golden dragon-like mecha that will fuse into God Gekiryuken whenever God Ryukendo is accessing the Ultimate Mode. The Tail part of this mecha is fused with God Gekiryuken's blade part, while the rest of its body is split in half and fused with the God Gekiryuken's shield part.

  • After the series end, Kenji later make a cameo appearance in Tomica Hero Rescue force : Rescue the Mach Train! movie as a normal police officer along with Fudou to capture the defeated Dr. Mad.
